Today went by pretty fast

Having work go by fast is always a good thing. I worked as fast as I could on the power point summarizing the benefits survey results. There were a couple spots I simply did not know what Nikki wanted, so I went in to discuss it with her. She was in a big rush because one of her interviewees arrived while she was trying to describe what she wanted. Because of this she was quite unclear. I don't know if the bewildered look on my face gave it away or she realized in on her own, but she said she knew she wasn't answering my questions. Unfortunately, that is all she had time to say before she had to start her interview. I went back to my desk with one hour till she needed a finished product and did my best to make something that wouldn't embarrass me. She told me after her presentation that it looked good and worked well. At that point I made the mistake of telling her it wasn't what I wanted. Then I described a Martin style presentation with very little text, mostly pictures and graphs with a hand out or executive summary with all the information that the speaker says. Which, Nikki thinks, would be just right for when she has justify her changes and cost increases to managament. Maybe I shouldn't point out where I could improve.
In truth, I liked doing the powerpoint and it would not make me sad to had a reason to put off referrence checks....
I think that noise I heard was you coming to pick me up. I guess i am done.

A Good Day in June

So today was a pretty swell day. The new intern, Scott, is a lot of fun and we got to discuss a bunch of topics, from free will and determinism, homosexuality, religious experience, evolution and intelligent design, linguistics, marriage, dating, and so forth. It was quite the pow wow. He's a fun cool kid, and has thought about a lot of things for being so young. Besides that, I rocked pretty hard at my San Man presentation--I was able to think on my feet, talk to my audience, and evaluate what was important to them. They all said I did a great job, so I'm pumped about that. It was a good PowerPoint too. I'm grateful for my document design class, which has taught me how to use effective PowerPoints. They thought it was creative and useful, and didn't overpower the presentation. Right on. Besides that, I ate some awesome ice cream pie. Thought about some cool philosophy stuff and contacted a lot of friends. Life is good! I just want to hit the beach and do a little more fun exercise. I need racquetball dang it.

Dullness

So today was the dull day where whatever you did at work was some boring administrative duty... organizing folders, organizing files, resumes... YUCK. But everyone has to deal with paper work I hear. Though some involves more than others. I did get to help the new intern, Scott, have some work and teach him some of the ropes of the place. Get kid; very young tough. Surprised he was able to land an internship here so soon, but I suppose it helps to be friends with the CEO's daughter. Lessons for life... it's who you know! I also sent off some STOP stuff, and wrote Nate about the programming. Good!

YEAH! Lindsay and I have our own blog to look at it, publish our thoughts and days in! Together, separate... who knows? Stay tuned!
